Instant Indian Food

Sounds scary? Well, I was a little scared, but I bought some anyways. I had some for lunch today on top of steamed rice, and it’s surprisingly tasty. Yum! I can hardly wait to try the other dishes they have. This will be a great remedy for when I have a hankering for Indian food… I love Indian food, but Nathan… not so much. Now I’ll just have to learn to make my own raita and naan to go along with the instant stuff. Mmmmmmmmm!

I’m related to Superman!

I took Sean to the playground this morning. While Sean was swinging, a cute little boy (maybe 3-4 years old) with coke bottle glasses came over and says, “hiiiii! What’s your name?”. Sean replied, “Superman”. 🙂

Car “repair”

I took our car in to the dealer to have the windshield sprayers repaired this morning. Had to get up before 7:30 am… not much fun. I pulled up, and someone came out to the car to verify the problem.

Kia guy: “What’s going on with the car?”

me: “The windshield sprayers aren’t spraying.”

Kia guy: “so they’re not spraying at all?”

me: “right. we press the button and only the windshield wipers move, but no spray.”

Kia guy: (opens door and puts in keys to try it out) “You mean this button?” (presses button and wipers move, but no spray) “That’s just a mister. You use it if you have a mist on your windshield. To spray the windshield, pull the lever back.” (he pulls lever back and sprays and cleans our windshield)

me: “oooooh. That would explain it. Guess we should have read the owner’s manual!” (giggling, and embarrassed) “Thanks! I guess it’s not broken, afterall!”
Kia guy: “No problem. You’re actually like the 15th person this week who’s come in with that problem. Have a good day!”

Doht! How embarrassing! I think it’s funny that 2 college graduates couldn’t figure that one out… we’ve been thinking it’s been broken since January! HAHAHA! I really appreciated the fact that the Kia guy didn’t try to make me feel dumb. They get a thumbs up for that. Teehee… next time, I think we’ll read the manual before bringing the car in for repair.

Went Antique-ing

I went antique-ing this afternoon and enjoyed some time browsing by myself. I LOVE to go to thrift and antique stores and just wander around and see what I find. I saw many beautiful things I’d love to have, but can’t justify purchasing at the moment. Oh well… most of the fun is in looking anyways! I’ve been contemplating purchasing some vintage table cloths and making kitchen valances with them.

Missing Husband

My honey has to work all weekend on a special project at work… Thankfully, this very rarely happens. But we miss him… Sean kept asking last night, “Daddy will come home tonight?” I think he misses playing with his Daddy. He didn’t get home last night until about midnight, and he had to leave again to be at work at 9:30 am. Tomorrow, at least, he gets to work from home, but he still has to work. No weekend for Nathan! 🙁

Scribba-dabble-scrabble

We’ve been playing lots of Scrabble of late since Grandma Peny is visiting. She loves to play! We’ve become accustomed to playing 9-tile scrabble instead of 7-tile scrabble. The games go much faster, which is really nice. We haven’t played Boggle with Grandma yet… I think I’ll have to introduce that word game to her. I think she’ll like it too.

Weekend of visitors

We had a wonderful weekend of visitors that just passed. My brother and his family stopped into Albuquerque for a couple days on their way to Denver from Texas. Sean got to play with his cousin Evan, and we all got to cuddle little 3 month old Andrew, too! It was great! Us parents even got to escape for a bit without the kids while my mom and grandma watched all 3 little ones. That was nice… I can’t remember the last time that the 4 of us were able to have conversations without being interrupted by the kids. 🙂 We got to do some shopping (the boys at CompUSA, and the gals at Linens n Things and Old Navy) and had some tasty Fraps at Starbucks. Other friends of ours, Chris and his lovely new wife, Kelli, were able to stop in on Friday night on their way to Needles California. Chris is a college buddy of Ethan, my bro-in-law, so Ethan came over too. It was pretty fun having so many people come through the house this weekend! Anyone want to come over next weekend? 🙂
